Aliée Istanbul — KNX hotel automation in a protected building

The building

Aliée Istanbul sits on the shore of the Golden Horn, inside the historic Tersane Istanbul complex — once the centre of Ottoman naval activity, now a luxury hotel. Inspinia delivered the complete KNX-based automation system end to end.

The problem

A protected structure sets the terms. The automation had to be modern and invisible at the same time.

What was installed

• 4" SQ touch panels in every room area — entrance, bedside, living and bathroom — so control is reachable from wherever the guest is standing.
• Lighting scenes the guest can adjust, which is also where most of the energy saving comes from.
• KNX climate control, with temperature set directly on the panel.
• Curtain and shading automation on the same interface.
• Room modes — Entrance, Comfort, Sleep, Exit — so one press changes the whole room.

Results

• Every room function under one intuitive interface, reachable from four points in the room.
• Lighting, climate and shading coordinated rather than fighting each other, cutting unnecessary consumption.
• The technology sits inside the historical architecture without showing.
• All 122 rooms behave identically, which is what makes the operation manageable.
